(In case you missed it, here's the homepage for this series that explains what these posts are all about. Scroll below for a video player of this playlist!)
Welcome to the second instance of Music Monday! It is time to make your Monday a little bit brighter.
Today's playlist is one that I am super excited to share: the songs that automatically bring a smile to my face! These are great songs for the gym, for your commute, to wake up in the morning, or pretty much any time of day. They're so good that, sometimes if I'm in a 'woe-is-me', let's throw a pity party, sulking kind of mood, I'll almost get mad (briefly) when these songs first come on because I just KNOW I'll be forced to smile once I hear them! (Seriously guys, I'm giving you a secret weapon here - when these songs come on, I just can't hold myself back and break out in smiles and dancing. Think I'm exaggerating? Just blast one of these songs around me and find out...)
Comment below and let me know what you think of these posts! Did you find any new songs to add to your playlists? Do you have any songs you would recommend around this theme?
Today's focus: The "Can't Stop Smiling" playlist - Part 1 (again...because I have too many songs for this to put in just one post!)
Purpose: WHEN YOU NEED TO SMILE. OR DANCE. OR JUST BE HAPPY.
(Below is a video player of the entire (*AMAZING*) playlist; alternatively, each song title also links to the YouTube version of the song for your easiest convenience).
Clap Your Hands - LeoSoul. A nice little funky song to start us off. Please note that I purposefully chose the video from Dancing with the Stars because it just amplifies the happiness this song brings me.
Move That Body - Nelly. When Nelly tells you to move your body, you move your body. (This is one of my FAVES. And you bet I know every word.)
Old Church Choir - Zach Williams. Religious or not, this gospel-rhythm'd song is nothing but joy.
Shake Ya Tailfeather - Nelly, P. Diddy & Murphy Lee. Oh come on, can you honestly tell me you can listen to this song and not want to get up and dance a little bit?! (Notice this is Nelly's second appearance in just 4 songs...he's just that good!)
Mamma Mia - ABBA. A classic.
Sing - Pentatonix. The title says it all.
Fear of Missing Out (F.O.M.O.) - Alex Smith. Words can not describe my love for this song. Also...if you check out the acoustic version of him performing it live....*SWOON*. (This also makes a great workout/running song due to a fantastic tempo).
One Shot - Hunter Hayes. A newer, less known one, but wonderful nonetheless. (Side note: Hunter Hayes is one of my all-time faves <3)
Man! I Feel Like a Woman! - Shania Twain. 'Let's go girls'.
Headphones - Jackie Lee. I'd like to imagine these lyrics articulate what people think of me.
Dance with Me Tonight - Olly Murs. Again, title says it all.
Better When I'm Dancing - Meghan Trainor. Because it's true; life is better when I'm dancing.
Day Drunk - Morgan Evans. For all my country lovers out there, this is an amazing addition to your playlists.
Proud Mary *GLEE CAST VERSION* - (Glee Cast). Emphasis on the Glee version here. This version is AMAZING. (Also makes a great workout/running song - just listen to that beat and tempo!) Note that the beginning is rather slow, but if you just give it a chance, your patience will pay off at ~0:56.
Country Girl Shake it For Me - Luke Bryan. I don't care if you despise country music - you can't deny that this is a song made for dancing.
Ms. New Booty - Bubba Sparx. Because I like to end on a total shocker.
